We came across Baron via word of mouth and recommendation. Exactly the kind of brewery that we like to work with, whereby no more than a couple of varying styles of beers are produced each month.
‘Baron Brewing is a playground for beer, where no two batches are the same. Made for the fun and love of the process – the next beer will be the best beer.’
The brewery are based on a farm in Great Hormead, East Hertfordshire.
The focus is to brew modern styles, particularly highly hopped ales and fresh lagers. In only a short lifespan so far, they have managed to garner attention. With some of their more hop forward beers like ‘Hitchhiker’ and ‘Hens Teeth’ as well as giving us one of our favourite low abv pales ‘Finger Puppet’ and ‘Bluff’. It’s a swift but consistent bi-weekly from drop from this excellent outfit.
The 1000L brewhouse allows for an ever-changing range of beers to be brewed. Each style is pushed to its limits, with the evolution and development of new flavours.
With a small (but state-of-the-art) canning machine, all beers are packaged in 500ml cans, with an emphasis on sating local demand before the beers are distributed nationwide. Definitely an up and coming brewery to check for.
