‘Pure & Craft’; that’s what Kees Bubberman, owner of Brouwerij Kees stands for. After 7 years as the master brewer at the Emelisse Brewery in Kamperland, Kees decided to go it alone in 2015.
Inspired by The Kernel and an independent Magic Rock he started creating surprising beers with big, bold flavours with his trusted brewing team. Unafraid to experiment and with an eye on quality and most importantly consistency, Kees brew classic styles with their own twist that are full of character and surprising in taste, at both ends of the ABV spectrum. From hoppy beers to BA monsters, it’s all here for you.
Based in Middelburg in the Netherlands, Kees made their name with their Caramel Fudge Stout (amidst other beers) – one of the first drinks of its ilk to cement its position in the early craft beer market here in the UK that won fans over.
From there that particular beer has seen many barrel aged iterations including Brandy, Wild Turkey, Bourbon and Pedro Ximinez versions. However they are skillful exponents of other dark styles too including Porters, Scotch Ales and Barley Wines. Hoppy styles are also on the Kees agenda, with excursions into Pales, NEIPA’s and NEDIPA’s complementing their beer line up.
With an emphasis on drinkability Kees beers are uncomplicated, with an emphasis on extracting as much flavour from the base recipe as possible, in order to let the creative process shine through.
